The piece "At the top of the pyramid everything turns to gold" deals with slavery, from the times of the pharaohs to the present day through the capitalist system and technology, how they have sold us the dream that anyone can reach the top of the pyramid and this has not been more than a mirage of the desert ... The text that we see inside the pyramid was made by three people who were commissioned to do a performance in which they wrote the title of the piece with black chalk until space was filled, I intervened the performance with audio samples taken from mines and clandestine factories from different parts of the world. The piece was made in 2017 and presented at the Raúl Anguiano Art Museum in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.
The impressive work of Omar exhibited at the MURA, invaded with the performance he mentioned, invited me to invade it again. I immediately knew with what image I was going to merge his giant work, A slide taken in 1982 of two horsemen against the background of the Dachour pyramids, located about 40 km from the city of Cairo. Slide slightly damaged by the years, which gives the fusion an additional mysterious touch, giving it a transcendental and relative relevance at the same time.
